Seasiders 2019-2020
by posted 07/29/2019

Hello, Seasiders,

I hope everyone is having a great summer! We are looking forward to a fun and productive season ahead with Coach Danielle leading the girls. She is extremely organized and sends out a lot of communication through email and Team Snap, but I will send weekly emails about games, practices, etc. which will post on the Summit Soccer Club site. Denise Anderson and Christine Engel are the licensed parent managers.

Just a few items as reminders:

1. Preseason Camp and Training

Dates: Monday, August 26th - Friday, August 30th

Time: 6pm-8pm

Location: Glenside Field

Cost: $100 per player

U12 (2008) - U15 (2005) Players: http://assn.la/Reg/?r=1:266942

Danielle has reserved field space at Glenside Large on Wednesday, August 14th from 6-7 p.m. If there is enough interest/availability, we can do a half-field free play (scrimmage) just to get the girls some touches on the ball before preseason camp. Please let her know about your daughter’s availability

2. Team Snap

Danielle sent out an invitation to Team Snap for the Seasiders 2019-2020. Please let her know if you have any issues. We use this to keep track of weekly attendance for games.

3. Fall Season Training Schedule

Seasiders will train on the following days:

Wednesdays 5-6:30 p.m. @ Franklin Field

Saturdays 10-11:30 a.m. @ Glenside Large

Most games will be on Sundays, but we may have some Saturday or weeknight games due to scheduling conflicts.

4. Possible Fall Tournaments

The Club provides every Summit travel team with annual tournament allowance in the amount of $600. Any additional cost will be the responsibility of the team, which may also play a factor into how many tournaments we compete in this year.

Parsippany Pride Tournament takes place October 11th-13th (Columbus Day weekend). This tournament is usually a well-organized local tournament with a lot of participants in every age group, which means good competition for teams of every level of play. A lot of Summit teams take part every year.

MCYSA League Cup takes place in the fall for U13 teams. The format is a single elimination league wide "tournament" with a maximum of 5 rounds of play in each age group. The league cup is open to ALL teams currently registered with MCYSA. For example, if we are a Flight 3 team, we can play any team in any flight throughout the competition to try and win the League Cup. This will be held on a Saturday and more details will follow once the league announces them.

5. New Uniforms

It looks like everyone has ordered their new uniforms from Soccer.com. The girls should get into the habit of wearing the black practice shirt at every training session. If you’re worried about laundry, we suggest ordering additional practice shirts and socks.

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! Danielle will be organizing a parent meeting for the team either during the week of preseason camp, or the following week depending on when everyone is available.

Enjoy these last few weeks of summer.

Best,

Susan, Christine and Denise
